Miller is Key to post season success

The Cleveland Indians are cruising to another American League Central Division title here in 2018. Let's be clear the division sucks and we are the only team above .500 currently.  Out of the teams in the American League playoff picture the Tribe is by far the team with the worst record. The Yankees, Red Sox, and the World Champion Astros all have loaded rosters top to bottom. All are 20-40 games above .500, while the Tribe is merely 9. There are two months to go in the regular season and my confidence hasn't faded as it relates to the Tribe's chances of winning it all.
Good pitching beats good hitting and we have good pitching! Trevor Bauer is a pit bull on the mound whose knuckle curve gives hitters fits. Corey Kluber is the defending Cy Young Award winner. Carlos Carrasco and Mike Clevinger are two strong 3rd and 4th options as playoff starters.
(let's hope nobody throws on 3 days rest this postseason) our 1-4 in the batting order are strong, 5-9 are ehh... The separation between our team and the rest lies in the left hand of Andrew Miller.
Miller is the closest thing to Randy Johnson you'll ever see. He has a dominant postseason under his belt.{2016} Miller was MVP of the American League Championship Series. He didn't allow a run in his first 14 postseason appearances.
Miller is rehabbing from an injured knee and if the Tribe can get him back in totality, they can win it all. His ability to dominate and get you 6 outs or more can shorten a game for the starters.
In 2017, he came back to earth  as he gave up a home run to Greg Bird of the Yankees which was the deciding blow.
Now as we sit and wait for Miller's return to the rotation here in 2018, the window to win a Championship is closing. The Indians breaking the longest Championship drought in baseball is heavily dependent on the right knee and Left arm of Andrew Miller.

CTE and the aggression of Football players off the field. PART1

                                                           I LOVE THIS GAME.....

My favorite game as a big fan of sports is professional football. The teamwork is impeccable, I love the camaraderie, the hard hits and excitement of the game. The truth is that players are dying to play this game. Unfortunately due  to chronic traumatic encephalopathy some players have been left as broken men. There are multiple players who have committed suicide under the guise of suffering from brain trauma.
Some have become violent and a modicum of NFL players have been incarcerated.
The effects of the violent collisions has taken a toll on men during and especially after they are done playing the game of football.

       According to Boston University Dr. Ann Mckee examined the brains of 202 deceased football players. What she found was that 110 of 111 NFL players had CTE. (July 25th 2017}
CTE has also effected the brains of players still alive, here is a list of some. their average age is 51:
Lance Briggs, Joe Delamilleure, Mark Duper, Brett Farve, Charlie Garner, Tony Dorsett, Bernie Kosar, Jim McMahon, Jamal Lewis and Leonard Marshall.
Commissioner Godell and The NFL rules committee have done a nice job of adjusting the rules as it relates to helmet to helmet contact.
This is a collision sport the likes of which you can make but for so safe. Like coal mining the honest truth is that they'll get "black lung" and die by 50 something.
There needs to be steps taken off the field in order for these players to make those adjustments off the field as well. A modicum of players have had off field issues from Domestic Violence, to drugs, gun charges, etc... I would assert that the brain trauma has to be part of some of these scenarios as they have a 4.7% arrest rate.

The joe knight show/ Dictator Trump

No Joe Knight radio show this week

Hey! what can I say people this is summer. People like me and invite me over to have libations.
The Joe Knight radio show will not be on this week. The 4th of July is coming among other invites so please check out my previous shows on the June postings on my blog.

DICTATOR TRUMP

There has never been a more racist, arrogant, misogynist, inept, race baiting, insecure, confused, insipid, President than Donald J. Trump.
When you turn ICE which is a border control mechanism into a deportation organization that separates legalized immigrants from their families is demonic.
According to the L.A. Times, some legalized immigrants such as Jose L. Garcia now 62, was convicted of domestic violence in 2001, was taken from his front porch while watching his grand daughter by ICE agents. Garcia was a lawful permanent resident since 1988. The crack down was supposed to be on  illegal immigrants with criminal records. Garcia is legal with a conviction deep into his past. (do you see how rights are slowly and systematically taken?)
First of all protecting the border is one thing, when you infringe on rights of legalized citizens and snatch them from the life they know and families, now we are going beyond the pail of POTUS and into Dictator.
He is making everything up as he goes and it is a dangerous precedent that is being set.
Border control is needed however we are watching a version of The Holocaust when families are separated by a man who deems virtually all Hispanic people as criminals. If Donald Trump is allowed to execute these racist policies what's next? Is it possible that voting rights are taken away from minorities? Who says slavery can't eventually be reinstated?
I know some would say it is far fetched but please remember things he said while running for President. Remember the racism spewed from his lips, the misogyny that is part of his make up and the KU KLUX CLAN-like rallies he has and continues to hold.
We the people cannot sit by while our democracy is being murdered by a man that many believe used Russia to get into office as they interfered with our election through the use of social media.
There is much more focus on illegal immigrants being taken by Customs Enforcement agents the ones who are here legally have not gotten the same attention. According to Micheal Kaufman a lawyer for the Civil Liberties Union "They are trying to deport anyone they can get their hands on."
What do we call a man who over turns and ignores laws which are here to protect people and their families? A man who is an elected official who is the President of some of the United States of America? A man who admires a guy who allegedly interfered with our election? An extreme threat to our democracy who is in the news daily for unpropitious actions.
Ladies and gentleman Donald J Trump is a dictator in training and must be stopped.
